A lot will be on the line Sunday night at Ford Field in Detroit, where the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions will meet for the final game of the 2024 NFL regular season. The winner of the NFC North clash will not only win the division title, but they'll also seize the No. 1 seed in the NFC and get a first-round bye for the playoffs.
Meanwhile, the loser will head to the postseason as the No. 5 seed and have to go on the road for a Wild-Card Round matchup next week. When these teams met in Week 7, it was a thrilling game that the Lions won 31-29.
The Vikings will be looking to avenge that loss on the road in Week 18. Heading into Sunday night's matchup, here's all of the betting information you need to know about the contest. (All odds via DraftKings .
) Spread: Detroit (-3) Over/Under: 56.5 points Moneyline: Minnesota (+130; bet $100 to win $130); Detroit (-155; bet $155 to win $100) Sam Darnold 300-plus passing yards (+105) In Darnold's past six games, he has thrown for 300 or more yards three times. The 27-year-old quarterback is also coming off a Week 17 performance vs.
the Green Bay Packers in which he passed for a season-high 377 yards. There's a good chance that Darnold will hit the 300-yard mark again this week. The Lions are even giving up the most fantasy points to QBs over the past four weeks (per NFL.
com ). Sunday night's game could be a high-scoring, back-and-forth affair. And the Vikings will need Darnold at his best in order to avenge their Week 7 loss.
Justin Jefferson anytime touchdown (-110) If Darnold is throwing the ball a lot, then it will frequently be going to Jefferson. If that's the case, then there's a high likelihood that the 25-year-old will find his way into the end zone. Jefferson didn't score during Minnesota's Week 17 win over Green Bay.
However, the star playmaker had five touchdowns over the Vikings' previous three games. Expect Jefferson to return to the end zone in a must-win matchup for the Vikings this week. Jahmyr Gibbs 100-plus rushing yards (+120) Since David Montgomery went down with a knee injury, Gibbs has taken on an even bigger role in the Lions' rushing attack.
Gibbs ran for 109 yards and a touchdown in Week 16 vs. the Chicago Bears, then rushed for 117 yards and a score in Week 17 against the San Francisco 49ers. It wouldn't be surprising if Gibbs reaches the century mark for a third straight week.
Detroit should give the 22-year-old plenty of opportunities to get there, as he's received 41 carries over the past two weeks. Gibbs also had a big showing vs. the Vikings in Week 7, when he racked up 116 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
So he's had success against this defense before. Sam LaPorta anytime touchdown (+150) Detroit quarterback Jared Goff spreads the ball around well, so it can be hard to predict who will get into the end zone in a given week. But LaPorta has been on a roll lately and could keep that going in the regular-season finale.
LaPorta has scored a touchdown each of the past two weeks, boosting his season total to seven. The 23-year-old has also been much more involved in the offense, getting 25 targets over the past three games. It could be worth taking a flier on LaPorta extending his TD streak to three this week.
