Chennai: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam president Vijay would just be another appendage of DMK , and as he has a similar ideology, he will only eat into the votes of DMK, said Tamil Nadu BJP coordination committee convenor H Raja . "People will not consider him as an alternative if he parrots the ‘Dravidian stockists'," said Raja. Speaking to reporters in Triplicane in Chennai on Friday after participating in a welfare distribution programme to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, Raja said he was of the opinion that Vijay had got permission for his conference because he paid tribute to Periyar .

He has been given permission for his conference with conditions, so he cannot speak politics there, he said."Vijay will only be a subordinate or second fiddle to the DMK," he said, adding that a space had been created in Tamil Nadu beyond the Dravidian ideology, a reason why the NDA was able to secure 18.1% votes in the recent Lok Sabha elections.

They want to capture that space; Vijay will only get a share of votes of people with similar ideologies, he said. Condemning the reports of animal fat being mixed in ladoos in Tirupati, he said late Andhra Pradesh chief minister YSR Reddy was known for his "anti-Hindu" stand. On being asked about Udhayanidhi Stalin's elevation as deputy chief minister, Raja said, "Let him be the sports minister, or a playful minister, but Udhayanidhi Stalin is an anti-Hindu who wanted to destroy Sanatana dharma like quashing a mosquito.

Hence, the label will not change anything," he said..
