Chennai: In a significant step for his political journey, TVK chief Vijay on Friday announced that his party's first state-level conference would be scheduled on Oct 27 in Vikravandi. The conference is aimed at setting the foundation for TVK's future endeavours and political strategies as the Election Commission officially registered the political outfit recently, following an application from Vijay earlier this year. In an epistle to cadres, Vijay said, he, "as a son of soil of Tamil Nadu" rightfully sought the support and blessings of people of Tamil Nadu for the successful conduct of his party's first conference.

"Let's build a strong political path from this conference," he said, reinforcing his call to TVK cadres. Vijay highlighted the growth of support for TVK since the introduction of party flag, attributing this to backing from party members and the people of Tamil Nadu. The state-level conference would unveil the party ideologues, ideology, and action plan aimed at fulfilling aspirations of people.

"The conference is going to be celebrated as a political and a grand festival that will herald the principles that will guide us and the goals that we will achieve," Vijay said. He said preparatory work aimed at decisively winning over people of Tamil Nadu was already underway, and the field work for the conference had also begun. Initially, TVK had planned to hold the conference on September 23, but the date was postponed due to safety concerns raised by the Villupuram police.

Adjustments, such as rearranging vehicle parking arrangements to adjacent land parcels to facilitate traffic flow, were made in response to suggestions from the district police. "Our main objective is to become a primary force. Our leader has emphasised the need for being the son of soil to reflect the sentiments of people as their own," said a TVK functionary.

Vijay is expected to take up a state-wide public outreach after the conference as part of a strategy to strengthen TVK and get it poll ready..
