Young Australian opener Sam Konsts played an outrageous reverse ramp shot off Akash Deep on day two of the pink-ball warm-up match against the Prime Minister XI at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. Fox Cricket's official Instagram handle uploaded a video of the same as it resembled a shot played by Rishabh Pant and Joe Root. The dismissal occurred in the 13th over of the innings as the right-arm seamer sent down a full-pitched delivery.
Konstas got himself into position quickly and lifted the ball over the keeper's head with the full face of the bat. The New South Wales batter went on to play a similar shot against Prasidh Krishna in the 20th over of the innings. Below is the video of the same: A post shared by Fox Cricket (@foxcricket) Konstas makes statement hundred as Team India bowl the hosts out for 236 Meanwhile, Konstas made a classy hundred at the Manuka Oval, having missed out on the opener's spot narrowly as the Aussie selectors preferred Nathan McSweeney in the Test squad.
However, the 19-year-old has reached his half-century off 49 deliveries and got to the magical three-figure mark in 90 balls. Konstas eventually departed for 107 as the Prime Minister XI was eventually bowled out for 236 in 43.2 overs.
There were also contributions from Jack Clayton (40) and Hanno Jacobs (61). Harshit Rana finished as the pick of the bowlers with figures of 6-0-44-4, while Akash Deep took two wickets. Krishna, Mohammed Siraj, Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja took one wicket apiece.
