Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley discussed his reaction to receiving boos from fans at MetLife Stadium during the team's 28-3 win over the New York Giants in Week 7. "It really made me feel like something other, like I've never had that feeling before," Barkley said during a Friday appearance on The Pivot Podcast (9:45 mark). "Some people be like, 'damn, they booing me.

' It wasn't really like that. I really was like, 'I'm really that motherf--ker that they are booing me.'" "If I was some scrub, I'm not going to get booed," he added.

"It was more of like a compliment to me." Barkley rushed for 176 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries in the win. The boos that rained down on the 27-year-old were likely intensified by his comments leading up to the game.

"I don't expect a great reaction. I don't expect to be booed," Barkley said ahead of the contest, per ESPN's Jordan Raanan and Tim McManus . "I look at it like this: The Philadelphia Eagles and New York Football Giants probably played in over 200 games.

This rivalry was there before me, and it's going to be there after me." The reaction from fans didn't affect the two-time Pro Bowl running back negatively, as he finished just 13 rush yards shy of his career high. Barkley had a chance to set a new personal-best mark, but he chose to give the Eagles' younger running backs more opportunities at the end of the blowout win.

The No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft spent the first six seasons of his career with the Giants before signing a three-year, $37.75 million contract with Philadelphia as a free agent in March.

Barkley has been a key piece of the Eagles' offense, racking up 658 yards and five touchdowns while averaging 6.1 yards per attempt. He's also recorded 103 yards and another score as a receiver.

Meanwhile, the Giants sit at 2-5 through seven games and own the league's eighth-worst rushing attack..
