The lingerie, clothing and cosmetics store opened earlier this month in the Town Square Shopping Center 124 U.S. 41.
Victoria's Secret is taking over part of the space formerly occupied by Bed, Bath and Beyond in the outdoor shopping center at the southwest corner of Indianapolis Boulevard and Main Street, across from Shops on Main in Schererville and catty-corner from the Highland Grove Shopping Center. It's occupying 6,750 square feet of the former Bed, Bath and Beyond, sharing the space with two other Buckle, which is taking over 7,500 square feet, and Barnes & Noble, which will occupy 20,000 square feet. Victoria's Secret has been a staple of malls like the Southlake Mall in Hobart and the River Oaks Center in Calumet City.
Founded in 1977, it has been the largest lingerie retailer in the country since the early 1990s, when it eclipsed $1 billion in annual sales. Known for its Victoria's Secret Fashion Shows and runway models it calls angels, it now pulls in more than $11.8 billion in revenue.
Victoria's Secret grew to more than 1,000 stores but has shrunk its footprint in recent years due to increased competition and consumer demand for more variety in sizes and for athleisure ware.
