FAIRFIELD – The Solano County District Attorney’s Office, in partnership with the Fairfield, Vacaville and Suisun City police departments, as well as the Solano County Sheriff’s Office, will hold an event recognizing National Crime Victims' Rights Week. National Crime Victims' Rights Week is April 6-12. The commemoration event will be at noon Wednesday at the steps of the Solano County courthouse, 600 Union Ave.
, in Fairfield. This year’s theme, “Kinship, Connecting & Healing,” asks the community to reflect "on that shared humanity should be at the center of supporting all survivors and victims of crime." "We often talk about defendants’ rights in the criminal justice system, and we work to insure these rights are always upheld, however, often lost in these conversations are crime victims - those whose lives have been turned upside down at the hands of another," the Solano County DA's Office said in a statement.
