VICKI BELO – Celebrity doctor Vicki Belo breaks her silence on bashers, urging them to be kind as she opens up about her journey as a cancer survivor. Renowned dermatologist and beauty expert Vicki Belo recently addressed criticisms regarding the uneven appearance of her chest, clarifying that it is a result of her past battle with breast cancer, not a cosmetic procedure gone wrong. In an Instagram Reel, Belo showcased various comments from netizens speculating about her breasts, with some assuming they were the result of an unsuccessful enhancement procedure from her own Belo clinic.
She firmly denied these claims, explaining that the changes in her chest were due to the surgical procedure she underwent for breast cancer treatment. Belo was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016 and was initially given only two years to live. To combat the disease, she underwent surgery in a hospital in New York, where doctors removed a large cancerous tumor measuring approximately five centimeters by seven centimeters from her left breast.
“I’ve been getting so many comments on why my breasts are uneven. Anyway, I thought I’d address it because you might think, my breasts were done in Belo and they’re uneven. That’s so not true.
” She went on to explain that after the tumor was removed, a certain type of tissue—not silicone—was placed in her breast. Additionally, three lymph nodes were taken out near her underarm, causing the area to appear deeper than before. Belo made it clear that these bodily changes were solely the result of her cancer treatment.
“I just wanted to clear it up because I don’t want you to think that’s what happens with boobs in Belo. We do boobs very, very well. In an emotional moment, Belo appealed to the public for kindness, stating, “Please, be kind na lang.
You know, I’m a cancer survivor.” She fought back tears as she admitted that the changes in her body initially led to feelings of depression. However, she chose not to let it define her and continued embracing her love for fashion, even wearing sleeveless outfits despite her insecurities.
Aside from surgery, Belo also underwent chemotherapy, which led to temporary hair loss. Despite her battle with cancer, she remained resilient and even attended her daughter Cristalle Belo-Pitt’s wedding in Italy in September 2016, proudly wearing a wig. Through her message, Belo not only defended herself against unwarranted criticism but also reminded everyone to practice empathy and kindness, especially towards cancer survivors.
