Veteran comedian-host Vic Sotto admitted that he had a “fanboy moment” with Kapamilya A-list actor Piolo Pascual when they were filming the movie The Kingdom . This is the first project of Vic and Piolo together. Previously, Vic mentioned that he was hesitant to accept this project when it was offered to him.
It is because the movie genre is far from what he used to do. In past years, his Metro Manila Film Festival entry plays around the comedy and fantasy genre. This time, Vic said that this was a serious project and he was not sure if he would be able to give justice to the role.
When he was already thinking that he would accept the offer, he asked their director Michael Tuviera who would be included in the film. When he knew that it was Piolo Pascual, Vic Sotto immediately accepted the project because he said that this kind of opportunity seldom happens. During the press conference for the movie, based on the article in Bandera, the Eat Bulaga host also shared that what he said before that he and Piolo did not have their bonding moment on set has changed already.
“ Yung bonding namin ni Piolo, I was asked before, hindi kami nagba-bonding. Hindi kami magkakilala, e. Sa movie, itinatwa ito, outcast siya, so wala kaming pakialam sa kanya.
It just so happened nang malapit na ang climax ng pelikula, do’n kami magtatagpo. Du’n kami nag-bonding. Sobra ang bonding namin, rurok na ang bonding namin ,” the veteran comedian-host.
Vic also shared that he heard a lot of Piolo before they started working and he has proven that the Kapamilya star is really a good actor. Then, the comedian admitted that he had his fanboy moment. “And as a matter of fact, in some or our sequences together, pinapanood ko siya and medyo nag-fanboy moment ako.
Ang galing! Ang hahaba ng dialogue pero hindi siya nagkakamali, ” he said. Vic Sotto added that his lines are short but he would still stammer. He also said that Piolo Pascual is not just a good actor but also a good person and working with the Kapamilya actor is a good experience.
