ADINA Ahtisa Manalo, Teresita Ssen “Winwyn” Marquez, Yllana Aduana and Chelsea Fernandez have proven that experience pays in a pageant as the veterans took home accolades from the 2025 Miss Universe Philippines competition’s visit in Northern Samar. All the delegates went on their first trip outside the main island of Luzon on March 30, and were split into three teams to explore different parts of the Visayan province until April 1. Various awards were handed out, and the seasoned bets bagged them for their respective groups.
Manalo, representing Quezon Province, was the “Northern Samar Ambassadress” for Group 1, while Marquez from Muntinlupa City was chosen for Group 2. Fernandez, carrying her birth province of Sultan Kudarat, was the choice for Group 3. Siniloan’s Aduana was declared as the “Northern Samar Influencer” from Group 3.
Liliw’s Pauline Rowbelle del Mundo and Guipos’ Princess Luab Ibrahim were the chosen Influencers from Groups 1 and 2, respectively. The awards were handed out at the Gala Night held on the ladies’ last evening in the province on April 1, Tuesday, held at the Ibabao Hall of the provincial capitol in Catarman. There, the ladies also earned almost P190,000 through two rounds of the “Curacha” folk dance performance.
The first phase was a free-for-all for the three groups, while the second stage was performed by a representative each from the three groups with an assigned partner each from the province. Money rained on the participants, including MUPH National Director Ariella Arida, as the crowd gamely threw paper bills at them during their performances. The total amount will be divided evenly among the delegates.
The ladies went on a tour of Northern Samar to explore the different towns’ cultural and ecological treasures including the Biri Rock Formation that the province is pushing for a Unesco recognition. They also went to the Lalaguna Mangrove Eco-park in Lavezares, and the famous maker of the popular “Pinangat” dish of taro leaves in Bobon. The delegates also had a picnic at the Pink Beach in San Vicente, and went on an island-hopping adventure in Capul and San Antonio.
They also went on a heritage tour of Palapag, and marveled at the glorious sunset at Pinusilan Lagoon in Mapanas. The ladies explored the heritage of Gamay, then relaxed on the island of Canawayon. The delegates are scheduled for another trip tomorrow, April 3, to Boracay, where they will have photoshoots and a big event that will be streamed online.
