Veteran Kannada comedy actor Bank Janardhan, known for his unique dialogue delivery, passed away at 75 in Bengaluru

Bank Janardhan, the veteran Kannada comedy actor, passed away at a private hospital in Bengaluru on April 14, 2025 (Monday). The actor, who died due to age-related issues, was 75 years old. Bank Janardhan, who did significant work in television, featured in popular serials such as Papa Pandu, Mangalya Jokali, and Robo Family.

In films, he debuted with Pitamaha, the KL Swamy-directed film in 1985. Known for his unique dialogue delivery and comic timing, he is well known for his performances in films such as Upendra’s Shhh! (1993) and Tarle Nan Maga (1992), the Anant Nag starrer comedy drama Ganesha Subramanya (1992) and Kaurava (1998) , headlined by B C Patil and Prema. In a long career in cinema, he has featured in more than 500 movies. The actor had suffered a heart attack in 2023. The mortal remains of Bank Janardhan will be kept at his residence in Sulthanpalya for public homage.
