This one is about the fun — of course, it’s about energy efficiency too. A Verge electric motorcycle was just ridden about 192 miles on a single charge!It would have been great to have been there to see it. Since I am in the US, not in London where it happened, fortunately Verge’s Chief Marketing Officer, Lauri Laukkanen, was available to answer some questions for CleanTechnica.



Which Verge motorcycle was used to set the new record?The record was set using the Verge TS Pro. The bike used in the attempt was completely unmodified and in production spec.What is its cost, motor power, battery capacity, battery chemistry, top speed, cruising speed, weight, warranty, and energy efficiency in miles per kWh?Cost: Starting from $29,900 + taxes.

Energy Efficiency: In this real-world record ride, approx. 9.6 miles per kWh (15.

5 km/kWh).Where was it ridden during the record-setting trip?The ride took place in Greater London, within the M25 ring road. The route covered various suburbs and all four city quadrants, in live urban traffic.

What was the average speed?The average speed was approximately 20-25 mph — due to typical city traffic including stoplights, pedestrian crossings, and congestion.Did the riders take breaks during the trip?Yes, the riders took brief breaks during the attempt, and swapped riding duties regularly to maintain safety and focus.Image credit: Generate MediaWhat was the weather like during the trip?The weather was mild and dry — not extreme, but consistent with typical early spring conditions in London.

No unusual weather events impacted the ride.Does the motorcycle have regen braking?Yes, the Verge TS Pro features regenerative braking.Did a support crew follow the motorcycle on the trip?Yes, a professional team including Webfleet, The AA, and Generate Media supported the attempt.

Webfleet tracked the journey, The AA ensured technical safety, and Generate Media documented the process. The support team did not interfere with the ride or provide any form of assistance affecting performance.What was the previous record?The distance we had to exceed was 180 miles.
