"Attendance numbers were more than we expected," he said. "Being our first one, we weren't sure how many people we'd get, but they ended up coming from all over the country." View + 7 Photos The event organised by the Georges River Model Railway Club promoted the hobbies of model railways and plastic kit modelling and helped foster healthy alternatives for the development of young people.

Plenty of vendors, who carried everything from basic starter sets for a new modeller, modelling tools and paints, through to highly detailed models and accessories for skilled modellers, attended. Attendees also took part in a number of clinics where they observed and learned how to use the modelling skills and methods shown. Mr Tonks said they chose to come all the way from Georges River because a few of the club members liked Goulburn.

"We knew this was a nice venue and affordable, so we thought it'd be nice to do an exhibition," he said. Although there were no concrete plans to return yet, Mr Tonks said that was the plan. "We're looking at coming again," he said.

"We'll get together and have a chat, but it's certainly worth continuing it when people have been supporting it like they have been." Share Facebook Twitter Whatsapp Email Copy Burney Wong Journalist I love sport. You can reach me at burney.
