Venom Movie Star Tom Hardy Meets Co-Creator Todd McFarlane For The First Time In 6 Years

Tom Hardy thanked Todd McFarlane for creating Venom.

Tom Hardy’s highly anticipated sci-fi film Venom: The Last Dance, the third and final installment of the series, is set to hit theatres later this week. The 47-year-old actor reprises his role as Eddie Brock and his alter ego, Venom, marking his six-year run as the Marvel antihero. Interestingly, it was only recently that Hardy met Venom’s co-creator, Todd McFarlane.

McFarlane, 63, is a renowned comic book creator, best known for his contributions to Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise. Hardy met McFarlane for the first time during a promotional interview for Venom: The Last Dance, set up by ComicBook. In the interview, both Hardy and the film’s writer and director, Kelly Marcel, were asked if they knew who was responsible for creating the iconic comic book character.



The duo instantly took McFarlane’s name. Soon after, the comic book creator entered the room. A post shared by ComicBook.

com (@comicbook) “I just wanted to say from a personal point of view it’s been a pleasure, seeing this character that I created so long ago with David Michelinie (on screen),” said McFarlane to the duo after he entered. He further added, “There’s rarely a day that goes by I don’t run into somebody, usually kids that come around, they go, ‘Man, I just love those Venom movies, Todd.’ ‘I just came up with a design that we had no idea (would take off), and you guys are now taking it to the world, right? It’s just been an utter pleasure to sit back and watch it, I just want to say thanks to you.

” As the interview progressed, the Venom director-writer said, “We love him. We love him. We’re such big fans,” to the character’s co-creator.

Further, Hardy thanked McFarlane for creating Venom, while the latter responded with admiration for what the actor-director duo had done with the character, saying, “Oh no, you guys take it to the next level.” Prompting the lead actor of the Venom film series to say, “Oh no, we get to play with him. So thank you.

” Kelly Marcel-directed Venom: The Last Dance, the third and final instalment of the film series, promises a fitting conclusion to Eddie Brock and Venom’s journey. The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Peggy Lu, and Stephen Graham. It will be released worldwide on October 25.

However, the Marvel film will be hitting theatres in India a day early, on October 24. Sony Pictures Entertainment India made this special announcement through its various social media channels..
