VEHARI - The Vehari district administration under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Imarana Touqeer is actively taking measures to combat the ongoing heatwave and ensure public welfare through accelerated development projects.

VEHARI - The Vehari district administration under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Imarana Touqeer is actively taking measures to combat the ongoing heatwave and ensure public welfare through accelerated development projects. To address the rising threat of heatstroke, a dedicated Heat Emergency Hotline has been launched via Rescue 1122. Moreover, emergency rooms have been established at DHQ, THQ hospitals, Rural Health Centers (RHCs), and Basic Health Units (BHUs).

These centres are equipped with ORS and IV drips to provide immediate care to heat-affected individuals. In a bid to provide instant relief, mosques across the district have been designated as initial relief centres. Citizens are urged to call Rescue 1122 in case of emergency, so that patients can be swiftly transported to the nearest healthcare facility.



Furthermore, the administration is sprinkling water on roads and has set up cold water camps at major intersections and markets to ease the intensity of the heat for pedestrians and commuters. In parallel with these preventive efforts, a meeting was held under DC Imarana Touqeer’s supervision to review the progress of ongoing development projects in Vehari. She instructed the relevant departments to speed up the repair and construction of roads, emphasizing that all works must be completed on time and with full transparency, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

The meeting included a detailed briefing on development projects under the Punjab Cities Program. The session was attended by ADC Finance/Deputy Director Development Muzaffar Khan, CEO Municipal Committee Rao Naeem Khalid, Sub-Engineer Nazar Hussain, and other concerned officials.
