Taking full responsibility for his film’s box office performance, the filmmaker granted others a free pass in his most recent interview.

The movie, which reportedly cost Rs 90 crore to make, hasn’t done well at the box office. According to the entertainment monitoring website Sacnilk, it has only made Rs 27 crore net in India and Rs 44 crore gross globally. Speaking to Fever FM, Bala claimed that Alia Bhatt had trusted him to create a movie that would do well at the box office and that he ought to have done so.



The 31-year-old made a decision to star in his movie, and the rest was up to him, the director added, expressing gratitude. Vasan Bala said, “She is the first choice for everyone. She could have been on any other film set, but Jigra, during that time.

So she has to make that choice. And she has trusted me with that choice. So it is my responsibility to deliver box office because we are in the business of filmmaking also.

” “So which is why I need to analyse. Kuch toh hua hai na (Something has happened, right)? Something has happened where people have stayed away, something that they have not bought, something that they didn’t feel the need to come to the theatre. If at all any other actor decides to give their time, his or her, then you know, make it worth it, ” Vasan Bala added.
