Vandalism strikes veterans' gravesites; city takes action

DOUGLAS — Flowers placed on the headstones of veterans at Calvary Cemetery were yanked away on Monday by someone who placed the offerings into piles, Douglas city officials said. Police responded to the cemetery and spotted the individual removing the flowers, city spokesman Carlos Valdez said. An investigation is ongoing.
