Chennai: A van driver sexually assaulted a Class VI student when she was alone at her house in Koyambedu. He is absconding now. The all-women police registered a case against him under the Pocso Act and launched a hunt for him.
Police said the child's parents arranged a private van to drop their daughter from home to school. The van driver, Vinod, who joined work only last month, offered the girl chocolates when he dropped her home. Police said he sent her obscene messages late at night.
On March 19, he sexually assaulted the girl after dropping her at home, as she was alone. The girl informed her mother about the incident on Wednesday and she filed a police complaint. The all-women police have launched a search for the van driver.
