Valorant has a lot of fantastic playable characters with two great ones added this year in the form of Episode 8’s Clove and Episode 9’s more recent addition, Vyse. As is typical of most multiplayer games, there are issues with balancing as there are agents players feel are underpowered while others are too OP. The good news is that Riot has confirmed a nerf is incoming for an “overpowered” Valorant agent , and it will arrive fairly soon.

Riot recently shared the patch notes for update 9.09 , and there is plenty else to anticipate for the future of Riot’s multiplayer shooter. The developer has previously discussed plans for transitioning the game from UE4 to Unreal Engine 5 , meanwhile, leaks claim a mega feature is currently “in development,” and it’s something that is already a huge part of League of Legends.

While leaks are always exciting, in official news Riot has confirmed an upcoming nerf for an agent largely complained about within the Valorant community. Valorant nerf confirmed for Neon On X, Valorant game designer, Penguin , revealed that a nerf is coming for Neon. Following complaints and feedback from the community, the game designer posted “For what it’s worth – we agree that Neon is too strong as well”.

Although there are no specifics for how Neon will be nerfed, the developer said Riot is “working on some adjustments to balance out the parts that feel overpowered while maintaining her grounded movement combat fantasy”. The nerf will arrive in patch 9.11.

According to the Episode 9 schedule shared in the update 9.05 patch notes , update 9.11 will drop on December 10th so we have just under a month left to wait.

Update 9.10 is currently scheduled to arrive on November 19th, but it’s always possible dates can change. In addition to a nerf for Neon, Penguin said there will be “comms coming out soon” for Deadlock and Harbor.

This was in response to a fan complaining about neither agent receiving any much needed buffs.
