The actor passed away on Tuesday, April 1st, but back on February 23rd he posted a series of videos and images surround the Dark Knight.

In the video, Kilmer was hanging out with artist David Choe, enjoying some Batman art, and apparently thinking a lot about this symbol of justice. It looks like some of the art may have been Kilmer’s own work, which he often uploaded and sold online. As he pulled the cowl on, Kilmer said mildly, “It’s been a while.

”The post also included clear shot of the painting beside Kilmer in the video — a blocky blue Batman crouching against a pink horizon. There were other images of Batman in the carousel as well, followed by old home movies of Choe playing with Batman figures, and discussing the character’s significance with podcaster Neil Strauss. There were even images from other Batman productions, with only a few glimpses of Kilmer’s time in the cowl.
