Tragically, Val passed away at the age of 65 , with his daughter, Mercedes Kilmer, confirming his death to the press on Wednesday.
According to Mercedes, in a statement to the New York Times, the actor died from pneumonia. He passed away at his Los Angeles home on Tuesday, April 1. Fans and colleagues alike are mourning the loss of the talented actor, who will always be remembered for his contributions to film.
On social media, film production company Paramount Pictures paid tribute to the US actor. A joint Instagram post from the company, Paramount Home Entertainment, and the official Top Gun social media channel said, “Remembering Val Kilmer, whose indelible cinematic mark spanned genres and generations. RIP Iceman.
” Meanwhile, actor Josh Brolin called Kilmer a “smart, challenging, brave, uber-creative firecracker." Alongside a picture of the two, he wrote on Instagram, “See ya, pal. I’m going to miss you.
You were a smart, challenging, brave, uber-creative firecracker. There’s not a lot left of those. I hope to see you up there in the heavens when I eventually get there.
Until then, amazing memories, lovely thoughts.” On X, one fan of the star said, “RIP Val Kilmer, you are BATMAN FOREVER.” Another person added, “Forever our Huckleberry, forever our Iceman, forever so many more wonderful characters.
