ALOR STAR: The remains of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) student Manarina Hasya Muhammad Karim, 22, who died in an accident involving two buses on campus, have been sent back to her hometown in Johor following a post-mortem today (April 20).The body was transported in a UUM hearse and departed from Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital at 1.15pm.
The convoy included about six vehicles from the university.The post-mortem was conducted at 9.30am and completed two hours later.
A somber atmosphere enveloped the hospital grounds as several of Manarina's friends and lecturers, visibly emotional, hugged one another after paying their final respects.UUM Islamic Centre director Yusnaidi Md Sabri expressed his gratitude to those who came to offer support."Thank you to all students and lecturers who were present.
If there were any wrongdoings by the deceased, we ask for forgiveness and for all to let go of past grievances. On behalf of her family, I thank everyone who assisted us." Yesterday (April 19), it was reported that Manarina died following a collision involving two buses near a bus stop in Jalan Persiaran Perdana, UUM campus, Sintok.
Kubang Pasu police chief Superintendent Mohd Radzi Abdul Rahim said the incident occurred at 8.45am. The victim, from Felda Cemplak, Labis, Johor, succumbed to severe injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.
