Amid extensive efforts to boost tourism, the Uttarakhand government is set to introduce a cruise service on Tehri Lake. This new cruise ship promises to be a must-visit attraction for tourists seeking to explore Uttarakhand’s scenic beauty. Moreover, it will provide all kinds of facilities to the tourists.
Tehri : In an effort to boost tourism in Uttarakhand, a cruise ship service is set to launch on Lake Tehri. This cruise is expected to benefit locals and encourage tourists to explore village tourism. The new cruise, ready at a cost of Rs 8 crore, promises a unique experience, allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful valleys while staying on the boat.
Supported by the tourism department, a private company prepared the cruise in PPP mode, aiming to offer a novel travel experience to visitors of Tehri Lake. All modern facilities will be available The cruise boat on Tehri Lake offers tourists modern facilities, including 12 rooms, a restaurant, and toilets. Operating from Koti Colony to Dobra-Chanthi Bridge, it provides scenic views of the route.
Launched in PPP mode, the cruise is equipped with all the amenities for a comfortable stay. Its roof design reflects the traditional houses of the mountain region, giving tourists a unique experience. The booking process will start soon The construction of the cruise boat, which took three years and cost around eight crores, was carried out by a private company in collaboration with the Tourism Department.
Currently, the cruise is operating on a trial basis from Koti Colony to Dobra-Chanthi, with the booking process set to start in the coming days. Besides the cruise, Tehri Lake offers various adventure activities such as parasailing, speed boating, jet skiing, and other water sports for an exhilarating tourist experience.
