Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor (L) and Alexander Afenyo-Markin (R) The Majority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for South Dayi, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, has asked the Minority Leader, Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, to use his time during the current parliamentary recess to adjust his leadership style. “I hope that the parliamentary recess will provide Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin with an opportunity to reflect on his leadership style and make necessary adjustments,” he stated. According to ChannelOne TV on X, Dafeamekpor raised concerns about Afenyo-Markin’s approach to handling parliamentary matters and interactions with colleagues.
“We believe that this recess will offer him the opportunity to review his performance between January and the end of March and see whether there will be opportunities for him to mend the way he handles matters on the floor and also amend the way he conducts affairs among his people and between his people and us,” Dafeamekpor stated. However, he noted that there are recurring issues with his leadership style since he was once a Majority Leader. “You recall how, as Majority Leader, he was always holding press conferences even though he was in government.
He will take matters to court and will dramatise, and with the slightest matter on the floor, they will walk out sometimes on their own business,” he indicated. Dafeamekpor also expressed optimism that the recess would allow Afenyo-Markin to reassess his approach and foster better collaboration within Parliament.
