U.S. Marshals make arrest on Daniel Island

Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis announced a man who was arrested and charged for an October shooting that occurred in Ladson. Kelsey Unique Washington, 28, was booked into the Hill-Finklea Detention Center Thursday, Nov. 14, on charges of attempted murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

Just before 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct.



3, deputies responded to a residence on Winthrop Street in Ladson about a disturbance with a firearm. Deputies arrived on the scene and met with the victim, who stated he heard a gunshot outside of his residence. When deputies went outside to investigate, he observed Washington outside his residence.

The victim stated Washington yelled at him, fired several shots and fled the scene in a vehicle. The case was turned over to the U.S.

Marshal Service for assistance in locating and arresting Washington, who was found at his place of work at New Realm Brewing Co. on Daniel Island and taken into custody..
