U.S. gymnastics championships headed to New Orleans in 2025. Here are the details.

Gymnastics Championships will be held at the Smoothie King Center, Aug. 7-10, the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation announced Thursday. The gymnastics National Congress and Trade Show will also be in the city, Aug.

8-10 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, with more than 2,500 exhibitors and attendees expected. The championships will feature the nation’s top senior and junior men’s and women’s gymnasts competing for national championships as they vie to make the U.

S. competitors for the 2025 World Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia, will be selected. “We are excited to bring our championships and National Congress and Trade Show to New Orleans,” USA Gymnastics President and CEO Li Li Leung said.

“The post-Olympic year is when athletes begin their build toward 2028, when the Summer Olympic Games return to the United States for the first time since 1996. With its history as a host of world-class sporting events, New Orleans is a great setting for our biggest annual event.” New Orleans, which hosted the Southeastern Conference gymnastics championships in March at the Smoothie King Center, is hosting the U.

S. Championships for the first time since 1995. The inaugural event was held in 1977 in Baton Rouge.

Among those who may compete next summer are current LSU gymnast Konnor McClain, the 2022 U.S. women's all-around champion and Hezly Rivera, an LSU commitment and U.

S. team gold medalist in the 2024 Paris Olympics. McClain, LSU coach Jay Clark and former LSU coach D-D Breaux were in attendance at Thursday's announcement.

Will seven-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles still be in the mix? Biles, 27, who won her ninth U.S. gymnastics all-around title in June in Fort Worth, Texas, has not publicly ruled out competing through the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
