ISLAMABAD - A US delegation led by Department of State senior official Eric Meyer on Wednesday met Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi to strengthen bilateral ties. Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker, Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhry, and Interior Secretary Khurram Agha were also present on the occasion. During the meeting, the Pak-US relations, matters of mutual interest, and bilateral cooperation were discussed in detail.

Eric Meyer condemned the terrorist attack on Jaffar Express, expressed sorrow over the loss of precious lives, and offered condolences to the bereaved families. Naqvi said that American companies could benefit from immense investment opportunities presented in the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum. He added that In this regard, the visit of the US delegation would prove to be a significant milestone.



Meyer showed interest in the opportunities provided under the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2025. Moreover, discussions were also held on enhancing collaboration in the fields of counterterrorism, anti- smuggling, and anti-narcotics. The interior minister emphasized that the Joint Counter-Terrorism Dialogue which was going to be held in Islamabad in June would prove important for enhancing cooperation in counterterrorism.

He said that terrorism was not just Pakistan’s war, and the global community must support the country in combating it. Naqvi added that, like the United States, Pakistan was also facing challenges posed by illegal immigrants.
