Urvashi Rautela Says She Turned Down Ishaqzaade To Prepare For Miss Universe: 'Wanted To Be A Pageant Winner More...'

Urvashi Rautela revealed that Ishaqzaade was supposed to be her big Bollywood break. She said that she turned it down to focus on Miss Universe.

Urvashi Rautela became a household name after she starred in Yo Yo Honey Singh’s music video – Love Dose. The actor has starred in multiple projects since then. In a recent interview, the actor said that she was offered the lead role in Ishaqzaade which launched Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor in Bollywood.

She said that she let go of the movie as she was working on representing India at Miss Universe. In a conversation with Hauterrfly, Urvashi Rautela revealed that she had to turn down Ishaqzaade as she was preparing to represent India at Miss Universe in 2015. She mentioned that the film was supposed to be her launch movie but she let it go as the beauty pageant was her childhood dream.



She said, “I had to let go of a Yash Raj Films movie because I wanted to go for Miss Universe. It was Ishaqzaade, which was supposed to be my launch. But this (pageantry) was my focus since childhood and I really wanted to prepare for it.

” A post shared by URVASHI RAUTELA (@urvashirautela) Rautela mentioned that she never spoke to Parineeti Chopra about the film. She continued, “Some people have a different way of thinking, that after they win it, Bollywood becomes their main focus. But in my case, it was never like that.

I never spoke to Parineeti about this, but it is good, everyone has different destinies. I wanted to be a pageant winner more than a heroine, this (Bollywood) followed automatically.” The actor made her Bollywood debut in 2013 when she starred in Singh Saab The Great.

She shared the screen with Sunny Deol, Amrita Rao, and Prakash Raj. She later won the Miss Diva- Miss Universe India in 2015 and also represented India at Miss Universe in the same year. She was last seen in Call Me Bae in a special appearance role.
