Urgent air fryer recall issued with owners told to 'stop using immediately'

Tower Housewares has initiated a voluntary recall on several batches of its popular air fryers due to a "low risk defect" that could lead to overheating and pose a fire hazard.

An urgent recall has been issued for several batches of Tower air fryers due to the risk of fire. Consumers have been urged to verify if their air fryer is one of the affected models and stop using it at once. Tower Housewares initiated a voluntary recall on its website, citing a "low risk" defect that might cause overheating and pose a fire hazard in certain cases.

Tower's spokesperson said: "We have become aware that a small number of Tower Air Fryers have a manufacturing defect which may result in overheating that under certain circumstances could pose a risk of fire. The fault has been deemed low risk by Trading Standards, however the safety and well-being of our customers is our top priority, and we have made the decision to voluntarily recall these models as a precautionary measure." Air fryer batches manufactured between January 2022 and April 2023 are affected.



The models in question are: T17023 Tower 2.2Ltr Manual Air Fryer T17061BLK Tower 4Ltr Manual Air Fryer T17067 Tower 4Ltr Digital Air Fryer T17087 Tower 2Ltr Compact Manual Air Fryer Consumers with these models are strongly advised to discontinue use immediately and provide their information to receive further guidance. Tower advises consumers to inspect the rating label on their appliance to see if they own a recalled product, reports Yorkshire Live .

The spokesperson added: "Cease use and check whether you own one of the affected air fryer models. You can check this by accessing the model number on the appliance rating label. "If you own an affected model we're here to make the process as simple as possible.

Simply follow the step-by-step instructions to confirm if you have an affected model, and if so what replacement options are available to you.".
