The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has postponed the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) prelims and main exams for 2025. The decision to postpone the exam was taken after the government announced that the recruitment to the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) would be made through both the Civil Services Examinations and the ESE. “The ESE (Preliminary) 2025 and ESE (Main) 2025 will now be held on 8th June 2025 and 10th August 2025, respectively,” the UPSC said in an official notice.

2024)) was put on hold,” reads the official notice by UPSC. The commission will also reopen the registration deadline on October 18 and will close it on November 22. Through the registration, not only will new applicants be able to apply but also old applicants will be able to make corrections to their application form.
Besides, a correction/edit window of seven days will also be provided from November 23 to 29 to all the applicants during which they will be able to modify/edit their particulars, the notification stated. The UPSC ESE 2025 application window was earlier open till October 8, 2024, and the preliminary/stage-I test was scheduled to take place on February 9, 2025..
