The resurfacing of the access road into GWH in Swindon started on Wednesday, March 5, and continued under nighttime closures, between the hours of 7pm and 6am, for around a fortnight. During this time, a diversion was put in place and signposted to allow patients and staff to access the hospital. GWH advised patients and other visitors to plan ahead and allow extra time during the disruption.

On Friday, March 14, Swindon Borough Council announced that the work had been completed.
