The police uncovered 'suspicious items' and have arrested one man in connection to the search. A cordon was put in place on the road with people being asked to evacuate their homes.

A specialist EOD team of officers were sent to the scene. The cordon has now been lifted and residents have been allowed to go back to their houses. The man remains in custody.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: "This morning police carried out a warrant in Welland Close, St Ives. One man was arrested in connection with the warrant and remains in custody. "While searching the property, officers located suspicious items, which resulted in a cordon being put in place and specialist EOD officers were deployed to the scene.
