UP Board Exams 2025: Nine cheating cases, 14 dummy candidates caught on day 1

UP Board Class 10 & 12 exams 2025 saw 9 cases of cheating and 14 dummy candidates caught. UPMSP enforces strict action under the UP Public Examination Act 2024. The UPMSP cited the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination Act 2024, aiming to withhold answer sheets and eliminate results for those engaged in malpractice.

Nine instances of cheating and 14 cases of dummy candidates were discovered during the first day of the Uttar Pradesh Board Class 10 and 12 exams on February 24, 2025. The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) reported these figures.Over 4.

8 million students took the exams, which covered subjects including Hindi, military science, and healthcare. The exams were split into two shifts, with over 2.4 million students in each.



More than 5.1 million students registered for the exams in total.Six cheating cases were reported in Farrukhabad district during the Class 10 Hindi exam.

One additional case was reported in Pratapgarh district during the same exam period. During the Class 12 Hindi exam, one cheating case each was found in Bijnor and Mirzapur districts.The 14 dummy candidates were found across multiple districts.

Six were in Farrukhabad, and four in Ghazipur. Single cases were reported in Kannauj, Jaunpur, Firozabad, and Pratapgarh districts.UPMSP's measures against exam malpracticesThe UPMSP referenced the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act 2024.

The Act states students caught cheating won't face criminal charges. However, their answer sheets will be withheld, and results determined according to board rules.Board secretary Bhagwati Singh instructed the education administration: “Therefore, you are expected to take the above-mentioned action in the case of examinees found using or involved in unfair means.

Additionally, decisive and strict action should be taken under the relevant provisions of the Act against individuals other than the examinee, as described in Section 8.”.
