The deceased have been identified as Pilli Durga Rao (32) and Sai Sushmita (27), both originally from Amalapuram in the B.

R. Ambedkar Konaseema district. Durga Rao operated a catering service, while Sushmita worked as a pharmaceutical employee in Hyderabad.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, South division T. Trinadh stated that preliminary investigations revealed the couple had been living together in the apartment for approximately three months. The police received a call around 5:50 a.

m. reporting that they had jumped from the building. Inspector A.

Pardhasaradhi of the Gajuwaka police alleged that an altercation might have occurred before the incident, as broken items including a TV remote and a glass were found in their apartment. He noted that further details are being investigated, including verification of call data records. According to neighbours, Durga Rao and Sushmita had been living together for three months and reportedly argued prior to their deaths. While Durga Rao was known to be unmarried, information about Sushmita was less clear to those living nearby. A watchman confirmed that they resided together in the same flat on the third floor.

Police investigations suggest that family opposition to their relationship may have contributed to their tragic decision. The door to their apartment was found open, and investigators are collecting evidence from both the flat and surrounding areas, including checking for any CCTV footage that may have captured the incident. The families of both individuals have been notified, and police are recording statements from neighbours as part of their ongoing investigation.
