As previously reported, the road leading towards the Bob Lucas Stadium and Weymouth Police Station was cordoned off by police yesterday at around 5.15pm. A building was evacuated as a precaution due to an 'unknown' object found.

Now, it has been revealed by Dorset Police that the object was found to be 'nothing suspicious' with no threat posed to the public. A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "The item was assessed and found to be nothing suspicious. "It was left by a member of the public in good faith and there was no threat to the public.

The cordon was lifted at around 8.30pm.".
