Gurgaon: Poor condition of the sector roads as well as waterlogging have been adding to residents' woes in Sector 10 for around three years now, with no redress. Despite repeated complaints to the MCG, the condition of the internal sector road connecting to Basai Road has continued to worsen, with no response from the civic body, residents said. Cracked surfaces, uneven patches, and loose gravel have become a common sight for commuters.
Some residents even filled the craters with construction debris to make the patch motorable, but the situation has barely improved. The civic apathy of the concerned authorities is evident, residents said. According to resident Satbir Yadav, water from Basai Road flows directly into their lane and causes severe flooding during the monsoon.
"Water stagnates for hours, sometimes days. No concrete is left to call it a road. I cannot take my granddaughter to ride a bicycle outside because of the unpaved stretch.
We are completely fed up with the apathy of civic authorities," he said. Surender Pradhan, another resident, blamed the MCG for its lack of action. "Several complaints have been submitted to the MCG to no avail.
This is one of the main connecting roads to the sector, but its condition is no better than any village road. As a result, people are forced to take another route, which is not only longer but also puts an additional traffic burden on it. The MCG needs to recarpet this road on priority," he said.
Residents also claimed that delivery drivers often refuse to enter the sector during rains, and ambulances and school buses find it difficult to navigate the broken stretch. Some two-wheeler riders even suffered minor accidents due to the uneven surface. Meanwhile, recently elected ward councillor Mahavir Yadav acknowledged the issue and said that he will raise the matter with the MCG commissioner.
"I will push for immediate intervention, including road repair and proper drainage infrastructure," Yadav said. When asked, MCG's executive engineer Sanjeev Kumar, said, "I will get the matter checked and action will be taken accordingly.".
