Underwater egg hunt to take place at Plunge San Diego in Belmont Park

Plunge San Diego, a historic landmark known to be one of the largest swimming pools in Southern California, will host its 4th annual underwater egg hunt in celebration of Easter.

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Grab your swimsuits! Belmont Park and its onsite public swimming pool, Plunge San Diego, are offering families a unique type of Easter activity that takes place underwater.On Friday, April 11, Plunge San Diego, a historic landmark known to be one of the largest swimming pools in Southern California, will host its 4th annual underwater egg hunt in celebration of Easter.Easter in San Diego County: Brunches and egg hunts galoreThe event, which takes place from 5:30 to 8 p.

m., includes floating and sunken eggs in the shallow end of the 85-degree pool, which is between 2.5-to-3 feet of water.



Plus, there will be glow-in-the-dark eggs on dry land and a giant floating obstacle course.The eggs used for the underwater egg hunt must be returned to Plunge San Diego, but participants are allowed to keep eggs found on dry land.People of all ages can also interact and take photos with real bunnies and enjoy crafts, live entertainment and more.

Each participant will receive goodies after completing the underwater egg hunt and all attendees will get a complimentary day pass for Plunge San Diego valued at $30.Tickets for the event can be found here.Early Bird and Tier One tickets are sold out as of Tuesday, but a handful of Tier Two tickets are still available for $35.
