BISMARCK, N.D. — Minnesota Duluth men's basketball locked down host Mary on Friday night, holding the Marauders to a field-goal success rate under 33% in both halves of a 70-52 victory in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play.
The Marauders were 9-for-28 from the floor (32.1%) in the first half, and that was the better side, as they dipped to 8-for-34 (23.5%) after the break.
ADVERTISEMENT Meanwhile, UMD struggled with 17 turnovers for the game but their 27-for-57 (47.4%) figure from the field proved good enough in a game in which the Bulldogs never trailed after the first two minutes. Charlie Katona scored 17 points for the Bulldogs on 7-for-15 shooting, while Kole Hanson added 16 assists.
UMD held a 47-33 rebound advantage with Nick Katona pulling down 10 himself. The Bulldogs (13-5, 8-4 NSIC), winners of six straight, travel to face No. 22 Minot State on Saturday.
