
DULUTH — A slow start to the third period cost the Minnesota Duluth men’s hockey program on Friday, resulting in a 4-1 loss to Omaha in NCHC play at Baxter Arena. The Mavericks scored two goals in the opening 5:01 of the third period to pull ahead. Senior forward Zach Urdahl — who later clinched the win with an empty netter — registered the game-winning goal 13 seconds into the third period and fifth-year senior forward Jimmy Glynn scored on the power play to make it 3-1 Mavericks.

UMD women snap losing streak Freshman center Cailtlin Kraemer scored on the penalty kill and power play to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 victory at Bemidji State in WCHA play Friday, snapping a six-game losing streak for UMD.
