Ultimate NINJA Weapons, Tao & Skills Tier List

Not all weapons, elements, and skills are made equal in NINJA. There have been some heavy nerfs and buffs but some options are drastically better than the others in terms of damage, utility, and flexibility. Here’s my best NINJA weapons, tao, and skills tier list.Table of contentsAll NINJA Weapons, Tao and Skills Tier ListS-TierA-TierB-TierC-TierAll NINJA Weapons, Tao and Skills Tier ListImage by DestructoidI’ll be rating all Weapons, Elements, and Skills in NINJA from S-Tier to C-Tier. The S-Tier is filled with either overpowered options or really strong ones once you master them. A-Tier and B-Tier are generally strong options or options that require a combo or some practice to fulfill their potential. Lastly, C-Tier options are drastically inferior to the others that I would either reroll or avoid using. Let’s dive into the detailed explanations for each one below.S-TierNameTypeExplanationFireTaoArguably the best element in the game with excellent damage-based skills. That said, you want fire for the burn effect and the execute. The burn damage-over-time increases your DPS and it also executes low-health enemies so you don’t have to do it manually.ResilienceSkillThis is a must-have skill on any build simply because its abilities are the best out of any skill. The Skyshield Slam is a highlight because you can use both the aerial critical of a weapon and then drop to the ground and use a ground critical without delay. The rush-down is also incredible, it’s easily an S-Tier entry.Daggers/Sai/Light WeaponsWeaponBetween the fastest M1s, arguably the best critical, and the Killer Intent instant teleport, the Dagger category is OP. It’s a fast-paced playstyle that difficult to dodge and parry and it’s one of the best options for PVP late-game.Odachi/Greatswords/Heavy WeaponsWeaponThe Odachi and some of the Heavy Weapons are great for two reasons. The first is that you can actually play around their slower speed to make parrying harder for opponents who are used to quick parries against daggers and some elements. The second is that you get incredible damage and hyper armor during your criticals so that you can power through enemy aggression. Unlike daggers, you need a lot of skill to use the Odachi but it’s incredibly powerful once you learn it.A-TierNameTypeExplanationWoodTaoNow Wood is incredibly flexible with lots of high-damage moves for any situation. It’s great for both PVP and PVE due to the tree branch ability that deals heavy damage. It also offers hyper-armor so you don’t get interrupted while channeling these moves. It’s just a great pick to get that I wouldn’t reroll.Bo Staff/PolearmsWeaponDecent skills aside the Staff has an incredibly powerful critical attack along with some great range and damage. Overall one of the better weapon options.Ninjato & Tachi/Medium SwordsWeaponMedium swords are incredibly flexibile offering great damage, speed, range, and overall being an excellent jack-of-all-trades weapon. The skills are also universally useful and while this isn’t the strongest weapon in the game, it’s definitely a viable option for all stages that can compete with Daggers and Heavy Weapons if you master it.WaterTaoAll the Water moves are pretty decent B-Tier level abilities but the surfing one far outclasses them all. With a full Tao build you can use it almost infinitely. It offers both excellent mobility for getting in and out of fights but also great multi-hit damage.AmplificationSkillThis skill is similar to Water in that it has a single great skill and then other decent skills to support it. It’s overall a great option offering good damage, a little mobility, and some ranged attacks.Related: Best NINJA Clan Tier ListB-TierNameTypeExplanationSpeedSkillSo Speed is perfectly balanced in the middle because it offers some excellent support mobility moves that aren’t great by themselves but shine in combos. If you use Speed in combination with a strong element like Fire and Wood in a Tao build, then Speed becomes much higher. By itself, it’s B-Tier but it can be much higher in the right combos.LifeForceSkillSo healing in a game where healing is scarce obviously sounds good, and it is. The reason Life Force is not higher is because of a weird lack of versatility because some healing skills share the same cooldown. This limits your healing potential but Life Force is still a great support skill to have in those lengthy PVP and PVE fights where a bit of extra health can win you the fight.Fist/Claws/WeaponlessWeaponWhile Fists are generally the weaker option in the mid to early game, they have an incredible late-game potential. This is because Weaponless skills have high damage and playing with something like Claws can give you incredible mobility and speed. You’ll need to invest a fair bit of practice but Fist and Claw builds can shine later in the game.LightningTaoIt’s in a weird position because Lightning used to be incredibly strong, but with the recent nerfs it’s just okay. The first couple of skills for it are quite weak because they’re hard to hit and don’t do much damage. The latter skills are still decently strong but overall, it’s just not what it used to be which is why it’s in C-Tier. If they ever buff it a little, it’ll jump to higher tiers drastically quick.C-TierNameTypeExplanationStrengthSkillIt's the best C-Tier skill and perhaps deserves higher, but I’m not the biggest fan of Strength because of how narrow it is in terms of utility. It’s all about big damage abilities but they’re hard to hit and usually easy to parry by any experienced player. I enjoy using the uppercut into rush for combos but other than that it’s not the best compared to other skills.TechniqueSkillWhile accessible early and is strong against beginner players, Technique skills are easily dodged and parried by experienced players. The smoke screen can be useful for escaping but it can’t reliably be used mid-combat. The abilities don’t even deal a lot of damage except for the ranged explosive attack so I wouldn’t recommend Technique at all.WindTaoThis is probably the weakest element in the game simply because its moves are both easily dodged or don’t do that much damage. The grab skill where you can fly and take the opponent with you is pretty decent for throwing enemies off cliffs but that’s about it for Wind utility. I would reroll this element. That’s it for my NINJA weapons, Tao, and skills tier list.
