Next week is set to start with four days of non stop sunshine, forecasters have predicted. The BBC 's London forecast says, starting from 7am on Monday, the UK will experience temperatures of between 6 and 20C until Thursday. On the first day, there will be 0% chance of rain , and a low of 8C.

The mercury could see a high of 19C, at the moment peaking at 18C between 3pm and 5pm, experts suggest. On Tuesday, there will be a low of 7C, as the sun emerges fully at 7am. The temperature will be slightly lower and peak at 17C between 3pm and 4pm, the broadcaster says.

There will again be 0% chance of rain that day. Wednesday may again see 19C, with the mercury at a high of 18C between 3pm and 5pm at the moment. The highest temperature will be on Thursday, according to current forecasts, potentially reaching as much as 20C.

A heatwave occurs when a period of abnormally hot weather lasts for more than two days. London normally sees highs around 15C in April. The BBC says that, currently, a high of 19C can be expected between 3pm and 5pm.

Once again, there is 0% chance of rain. Cloud is set to return on Friday. But temperatures will be maintained at a comfortable 16C high, experts think.

It will be a bit cloudier still on Saturday, peaking at a reasonable 15C. Rain could return on Sunday, though, as predictions suggest as much as a 27% chance of precipitation as temperatures could reach a high of 16C. The Met Office says it will be "largely fine for many on Sunday, although some patchy rain reaching the west later".

Rain will also be "lingering in the north Monday, but dry, bright and warmer for most on Tuesday". Regarding conditions between April 1 and 10, experts say: "From the start of April, settled weather is expected to cover much of the UK. Most places are expected to be dry with clear or sunny spells and light winds.

"Inland areas will see a general day on day warming next week. "It will probably remain slightly cooler near coastal areas, with an additional risk of mist or sea fog affecting parts of the east coast. There is a chance for more unsettled and perhaps cooler weather for a time.

"However the main signal is for dry and fine weather across the country during this period. "Temperatures will likely be around or above normal and feeling warm during the day, and some cold nights are still possible when skies are clear.".
