: In a shameful incident, eight Bengali labourers were stripped, tied with an iron wire and paraded for over 1.5 kms in Mission road under town police limits in Sundargarh district on Thursday. One of them labourers had misbehaved with a local woman while she was taking bath, sources said.

A group of individuals of the same place heard this unpleasant incident and took the matter to their hands. In a classic case of moral policing, the group of individuals, gheraoed the eight Bengali labourers. They then forced them to strip and tied their hands with an iron wire.
They also paraded them over 1.5 km distance. A few elderly labourers among them also had to go through such inhumane treatment.
Police received the news and rushed to the spot to rescue the labourers. As they saw police, the individuals created a ruckus. They broke the cameras and microphones of the journalists covering the news.
