Udayanidhi Stalin to be elevated as TN deputy CM, agreement in family

CHENNAI: The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has decided to make Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's son and minister Udayanidhi Stalin as deputy chief minister.

CHENNAI: The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has decided to make Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's son and minister Udayanidhi Stalin as deputy chief minister. It is reported that the family of Chief Minister M K Stalin has reached an agreement in this regard and will announce it officially this week itself. Stalin had hinted about making Udayanidhi Stalin the deputy chief minister.

Such a move was taken from the side of DMK at a time when actor Vijay has formed his own party in Tamil Nadu. After returning from America, Stalin told media that what you think will happen. He was responding to the question whether there will be a cabinet reshuffle.



There were reports earlier that Udayanidhi Stalin would be made deputy chief minister, but there was no official confirmation that day. Udayanidhi Stalin, a film star is presently the Minister of Youth Welfare and Sports. Stalin was made deputy chief minister after the 2009 Lok Sabha elections when Karunanidhi was the chief minister.

Reports said Udayanidhi will also follow Stalin's path. National media reported that his elevation is to help his father in governance. DMK youth wing leader Udayanidhi is an MLA from Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni Assembly constituency.
