U-19 selection must be transparent: LRCA President

LAHORE - A special meeting of the selection committee for the Inter-District Under-19 Tournament was held under the chairmanship of Lahore Region Cricket Association (LRCA) President, Khawaja Nadeem Ahmed. The meeting was attended by Lahore Region Chief Selector Malik Imran Bacha, Head Coach Aizaz Cheema, WZ President Sardar Naushad Ahmed, NZ President M Ijaz Butt, EZ President Bilal Muqeet, District Coaches Raees Amjad, Khurram Siddiq, Asif Ashfaq, and LRCA Operations Manager Abid Hussain. The session included a detailed discussion regarding the selection of players for the U-19 squad, with particular focus on the selection criteria and regulations issued by the PCB.

Kh Nadeem instructed all three zonal presidents and the coaching staff to ensure that the selection process is carried out with complete transparency and strictly on merit. Players who delivered outstanding performances in last year’s Inter-District U-19 tournament and the recently held Challenge U-19 League should be given preference during team selection.
