Mexico City's AXE Ceremonia, which was set to feature performances from Massive Attack and Tyler, the Creator, has been canceled after two people died when a crane collapsed

Tyler, the Creator's appearance at Mexico City’s AXE Ceremonia has been canceled after two people sadly died in a horror accident. The 34-year-old rapper was scheduled to play at the festival on Sunday night alongside artists such as Massive Attack and The Marías. However, a decorative structure that was being moved by a crane collapsed during Meme Del Real's Saturday night show .

Two people died in the incident. Mexico City Government said in a statement, "The aforementioned structure fell on two people who received pre-hospital care at the scene and were later urgently transported to the hospital, where they unfortunately passed away." AXE Ceremonia added, "With deep sadness, we confirm the passing of the two people who were injured during today's incident.



" Their statement continued, "We are deeply heartbroken by this loss. We are reaching out to their families to support them during this incredibly difficult time and to provide them with all our care and solidarity." AXE Ceremonia said the safety of their workers continues to be their priority.

They also shared they're working closely with investigators and want to have "complete transparency with the authorities." By Sunday, the festival announced "the activities scheduled for today have been suspended, following the guidelines of the relevant authorities. Our sympathy and support go out to their families and loved ones during this difficult time.

" They said refunds will be issued automatically through Ticketmaster. Following the tragic accident, the two people who died were identified as photographers Miguel Angel Rojas and Berenice Giles. An investigation was launched by the Mexico City Attorney General's Office to determine who was responsible for the incident.

It was found that the "unfortunate events were the result of poor oversight of preventive measures by the organizers and operational departments of the Miguel Hidalgo City Hall," according to authorities. The investigation remains ongoing. In the immediate aftermath of the fatal incident on Saturday, the festival went ahead.

Mexican rapper and singer Natanael Cano and K-Pop group TXT closed out Saturday's lineup. Charli XCX, who performed at the music festival on Saturday, reacted to the news on her Instagram Story. She said, "My heart is with the families and friends of Miguel and Berenice xxx.
