Tyler, the Creator's much-anticipated gig at Mexico City's AXE Ceremonia got canceled after a tragic accident left two people dead. The 34-year-old rapper was set to perform Sunday night with other big names like Massive Attack and The Marías in the lineup. Tragedy struck when, during Meme Del Real's performance on Saturday, a moving crane caused a decorative structure to collapse.

This devastating mishap led to the death of two individuals. Mexico City Government said in a statement, "The aforementioned structure fell on two people who received pre-hospital care at the scene and were later urgently transported to the hospital, where they unfortunately passed away." They also shared they're working closely with investigators and want to have "complete transparency with the authorities." The festival organizers announced on Sunday, "The activities scheduled for today have been suspended, following the guidelines of the relevant authorities. The Mexico City Attorney General's Office launched an investigation to determine who was responsible for the incident.

Authorities stated that the "unfortunate events were the result of poor oversight of preventive measures by the organizers and operational departments of the Miguel Hidalgo City Hall." The investigation is still ongoing. Despite the fatal incident on Saturday, the festival continued.

Mexican rapper and singer Natanael Cano and K-Pop group TXT concluded Saturday's lineup. Charli XCX, who performed at the music festival on Saturday, expressed her condolences on her Instagram Story. She wrote, "My heart is with the families and friends of Miguel and Berenice xxx.
