
ALOR STAR: Two teenagers were killed, and three others were seriously injured when the Perodua Myvi they were travelling in crashed after losing control on Jalan Tanjung Bendahara here late yesterday (Thursday).Jalan Raja Fire and Rescue Station chief Wan Azizul Hakim Wan Jaafar said two of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while the injured were rushed to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB).He said all the victims, aged 18, had recently completed their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations.
"Rescuers were dispatched to the scene in front of SMK Convent on Jalan Tanjung Bendahara after receiving a distress call at 10.28pm."Upon arrival, they found a Perodua Myvi with five teenagers on board that had crashed into a road divider.
"Two of the victims were confirmed dead by emergency medical responders, while three others were seriously injured," he said in a statement.He said that rescuers used special equipment to extricate the victims from the mangled car."The bodies were handed over to the police, while the injured were rushed to HSB," he said.
