Two Sussex pubs have been named among the best cosy pubs in the UK to visit on cold winter days. The Horse Guards Inn in Petworth and The Bell in Ticehurst were included alongside 28 others in a list from iNews. In collaboration with the travel company Sawday's they picked out "their favourite UK inns to warm you this winter".

The Horse Guards Inn The Horse Guards Inn was praised for its cosy aesthetic, its close-knit patrons and its crackling fires to warm up in front of. Discussing the pub, iNews wrote: "Inside Horse Guards Inn there is a series of rambling rooms furnished with quirky pieces, wonky beams and old pine tables in front of log fires.
"There is a real community feel and the menu champions local produce, including veg from their patch and good stuff foraged from the local hedgerows. Bread is baked daily and they sell eggs from their chickens." The Horse Guards Inn has also been well-received by customers, earning a 4.

"The pub downstairs is beautiful, friendly and on a Sunday evening packed, so had a great atmosphere.
