Two reasons Princess Beatrice's new baby will not get a royal title from King Charles

Princess Beatrice is set to welcome her second child into the world next spring - but why won't the little one be granted a royal title?

Princess Beatrice 's new baby will not receive a royal title from King Charles for two major reasons, it has been claimed. Buckingham Palace confirmed earlier this week that Beatrice, 36, and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 40, are expecting their second child together next spring. Beatrice gave birth to their daughter Sienna in September 2021.

Although this will be the couple's second child together, Edo also has an eight-year-old son named Wolfie from a previous relationship. Much like big sister Sienna, the couple's new baby will not receive a royal title from the King. According to @Gertsroyals on X, they will not be a Prince or Princess for two reasons.

Taking to X, the account wrote: "Children usually get titles from their father. So, Beatrice as a female wouldn’t pass Princely style down." A second reason was also noted, with the account writing: "The title Prince/ss does not usually extend to great-grandchildren of the Monarch (except for children of heir of heir).

So, even if Beatrice was a male, the Princely style doesn’t extend that far down." Although the new baby won't hold a royal title, they will be born 11th in line to the throne - with Beatrice’s younger sister Princess Eugenie moving down to 12th place. Alongside two sweet pictures of the family - including their daughter - the Palace wrote on Tuesday: "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together in early spring; a sibling for Wolfie, aged eight, and Sienna, aged three.

" The Palace also shared that the extended family, including the King, were "delighted" by the news of Beatrice's pregnancy. The Palace shared: "His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news." The new baby will be the 14th great-grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II - and the second born since her death in 2022.

Princess Eugenie welcomed her second son in May 2023. They will also be Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew 's fourth grandchild. Beatrice was pictured on Thursday at Chiltern Firehouse in London - her first time being pictured since revealing her happy news.
