Year six students Darcy and Zoey were both selected as winners for their creative designs and poetry. The contest, launched by the chair of Rochford Council, councillor Sarah-Jane Page, aimed to inspire creativity among district children. Entrants were asked to design the card's front cover and write a poem for the inside.

The winning card will be sent to mayors and other dignitaries throughout Essex. Darcy was chosen for her artwork, while Zoey's touching poem, "My Christmas Wish", was selected for the card's inside message. Zoey was also given the chance to recite her poem at the Chair’s Christmas carol service.

Councillor Sarah-Jane Page added: “This competition has truly showcased the wonderful creativity of our young people in Rochford. "My heartfelt thanks go to everyone who participated and helped spread the joy of the season through their incredible work.".
